MemberAssembled and tested! Space Invaders works great. Brings me back to the old days!
I can’t seem to figure out how to work Pong, it shows up but pressing buttons I get no response. Maybe I’m grounding out something out I’ll report back after trying with the foam.
Thanks again! I can’t wait to see the stuff people develop for this thing!
My teenage son and his friends are intrigued, it’s not Medal of Honor on the PS3 but when I plugged it in they were like “let me try, let me try!!!! O0

KeymasterPong only works if you connect paddle controllers. Glad you like Space Invaders — hopefully you can write some of your own games!

KeymasterI have updated the Hackvision firmware to allow Pong to be played using the onboard buttons controller. The up and down buttons simply move both paddles. If the buttons are used, then the analog paddles are ignored.
Firmware download available on the game development page.November 11, 2010 at 11:24 pm #822quirmche
MemberThanks Michael,
I just didn’t notice that I needed to make the paddle part to get the pong going. No worries, I’ll just have to order the paddles kit. I tried Radio Shack last night for the 10K pot and the push button switch. Wouldn’t you know it, they could only manage a reasonable push button. Their pots all had long stems, too big!!! Arrggh! They just aren’t the same as when I was a kid! Cellphones galore!!
I even checked for a project box, they had them but I just couldn’t bring myself to patronizing them after their “fail”!!!! I did manage a commerical for the hack vision though! 😉
Anyway, cheers on the update for the code! If that update was in response to my original question about pong, then double cheers!
“Hack On”!!!!!

KeymasterAgreed Radio Shack isn’t what it used to be! You were the second person that asked about Pong not working with the buttons so I figured I better make it work so that people didn’t feel cheated at all. Hack on, brother. O0
