ParticipantFirst, thanks a lot for bringing up this project. I am working on a project to transmit video from GoPro hero 3+ camera. However, I do want to record and send the absolute system timestamp for each frame. However, Gopro doesn’t have timestamp function included. So I am wondering whether I can overlay the time captured by a GPS clock onto the video. Gopro can transmit video from 480p, 720p to 1080p normally in 60fps. Also, the communication delay for video transmission is very critical. I am looking for the answer that whether it is feasible to use Video experimenter and possible Arduino Uno to overlay timestamp on at least 480p GoPro video input, without adding much processing delay. Thanks a lot!!!

KeymasterThe Video Experimenter can overlay on HD but only a composite signal. Can the GoPro output composite?

ParticipantWe have a wire for GoPro to output AV video and ground signal, such as http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-8G-Transmitter-FPV-AV-Video-Real-time-Output-Cable-for-Gopro-Hero-3-Camera-TMR/162337711060?_trksid=p2385738.c100677.m4598&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3Db10c6372155d4dd8ab35970fce28fb96%26pid%3D100677%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D171268669043.
Can I solder the video output of Gopro to the input port directly on the Video Experimenter board instead of using another wire to convert to RCA?

KeymasterYes, you can solder it directly. There is no need to convert to RCA connector.
