I posted a message about this last night under the other area for bugs/troubleshooting.

I have a working 16×32 RGB display from Adafruit using it with my Propeller microcontroller.
I received my Nootropic RGB backpack kit yesterday. As an EE and solderer for 30+ years I’m carefull about installing parts, cold solder joints, etc. but the display was blank. I did have 5vdc power applied and could measure it on the displays terminals and on the Nootropic RGB backpack. At first I was thinking, the packman demo may have not been loaded on the 328 chip by mistake. I downloaded the RGB libraries from the Adafruit Tutorial site for the 16×32 RGB display and got the pacman demo program. I verified it and uploaded it with no problems using the 3.3 RS232 TTL cable I also bought on Adafruit. I checked again and the display is still blank. I took everything off and hooked back up my Propeller microcontroller to the 16×32 RGB display and the display came on with no issues. I can’t get the Nootropic backpack to work that’s all.

What can I do at this point?

    Thanks,

    Tim Gilmore

Sorry to hear that — perhaps there is a bad component. We will contact you by email to work out an exchange.

Great news. I saw under a magnifying glass there was a solder bridge between IDC pads 2 and 3 which makes sense why the colors were messed up.

    Everything is working great now.
