    Hi guys/gals!

i recently purchased the kit from cool components (UK), yet after just finishing assembling it i have found its a V1 board 🙁 , and for what i have planned (airsoft prop) i really needed the external trigger from the V2 board.

in cool components defense, although they do not state that its a V1 board, the picture shows it as being V1.

is it at all possiable to hack the board to get a external trigger?(say taking a feed from the top LED between the 2 screw terminals) or should i just get a V2?

    many thanks in advance

In the attached image you can see that Arduino pin A0 is connected to the external trigger pad. You can solder a wire to this pin on the microcontroller. For the triggering to happen, though, you would need to update the firmware to the V2 firmware. If you have a FTDI programming cable or adapter, this is easy. Does this make sense?

The firmware and more info about programming the device is here: https://nootropicdesign.com/defusableclock/hack.html
