closed captioning from HD signal

Hello Michael,

I’m very interested and excited about your Video Experimenter shield!

Is the Video Experimenter able to capture closed captioning from the composite output of an HD device? Like my Dish Network box? Or an HDTV with composite out?

Better yet, do you know of a standalone HDTV tuner box that I could use this with to capture closed captioning from over-the-air HD stations in the USA?

Yes, I successfully decoded closed caption data from the composite output of an HD channel. I used my Tivo HD. I was kind of surprised it worked.
