I’m currently producing a one man comedy theatre show to be toured around the northern coast of Australia and would love the defusable clock to be an integral part of the show. My question regards the hacking and changing the code to the system.

    1. Can the code be changed so that the actual time and alarm system will not appear? ie. Power is turned on and the LCD timer is blank until the DET button is pushed?

    2. Can the code be changed so that three of the wires have no effect on the countdown and only one will stop it? (ie. no cutting of wires will ‘detonate’ the bomb?

Seeing as I’m not exactly a man of coding myself, would someone out there be able to write the code for me and explain how and where to input it into the Arduino software? I understand that this is a volunteer based community and that’s a lot of ask for, so if not even some pointers?

    Thanks!

Yes, those changes are all possible with some Arduino coding.

I did the same thing, but in my case I used 3/4″ PVC cut into 8″ lengths, since I read that dynamite was typically sold in 8″ lengths and 1″ diameter (3/4″ PVC is about 1″). Inspired by your article here, I wanted a more “authentic” dynamite wrapper though.
