Is it possible to mirror a video stream, such as for preparing to deliver to an automotive display for rear-view camera operation? I have been through the google results for this subject but the Video Experimenter seems newer than most discussions. That being said, I know most in-dash displays can mirror a video signal, I know you can do it easily with a CRT display, and I know you could use an actual mirror to accomplish this. I am looking for an in-line electronic solution that does not require changing the camera or display. I intend to feed multiple video signals to the in-dash display, including a car PC, which I would not like mirrored, the output from a 1 to 4 security camera multiplexer (which will show left and right angle shots from the rear bumper area for backing out of tight spots in two of the slots). With this setup, in order to prevent having to constantly enable or disable the display’s own mirroring function, I’d just want a single video line mirrored permanently.
If there’s no prebuilt or DIY solution that handles this electronically, my next best idea is to put an old portable LCD TV in a black box with another camera and a mirror and try to deal with things like moire and flicker that might creep in.
