November 13, 2014 at 7:44 pm in reply to: displays the countdown directly to the ignition system #2109gizmologistMember
Are you saying you want the countdown to start immediately when power is applied?
gizmologistMemberCool! Just uploaded it and it works great. I wanted a “demo mode” so this could be displayed with a running timer. I also modified the code to beep only in the last 10 seconds of the countdown and flash pin 23 for only 50 msec. upon detonation. After detonation, the display blanks for 10 seconds before recycling. I’m posting the complete (commented, with the tag “new code”) code here for anyone else’s use. BTW, this is my first Arduino coding experience! (had to truncate comments, sorry)

Modified for repeating countdown, beep last 10 seconds and flash pin 23 for 50 msec.
Delay 10 seconds with blank display before repeating.

gizmologistMemberWhile compiling the code, I received error: ‘defaultCountdownSeconds’ cannot be used as a function
I removed the parens from the line
countdownSeconds = defaultCountdownSeconds;()
and it compiled fine. As I’ve mentioned in other posts, I’m new to Arduino, and not much of a programmer.
Will this work? I don’t have my programming interface yet…
Thanks.gizmologistMemberOhhh… (Smacks forehead) How silly of me! Yes, I understand. TX connects to RX. I feel like an idiot!
