The countdown from 10 to 1 does not function correctly. Upon pressing the det button (or through alarm), the clock goes directly to “explosion” (led’s flashing/sounding going off). I made sure that it is in defuse mode (both led’s lit when holding alarm), though I tried it in all 3 modes. The clock works normally, and I can change the time as well as the countdown time (although it still goes off immediatly). I have double checked the soldering (will upload picture tomorrow). Is there anything I can focus on?

It sounds like you have not attached the wires correctly. You need to connect a wire from each of the right side terminal positions to the left side terminal positions. Order does not matter, but all of the right side positions must be wired to the left side.

The reason the clock “explodes” immediately is that the software interprets the lack of connects as the case where you cut the “wrong” wire and it detonates.
