Hello, I am capturing closed caption using the video experimenter. I found the line of closed caption in the channel and it is printing fine but the issue I am having is some of the letters are missing from the words. When I am printing the closed caption, two consecutive letters are missing from the random words. What can be the reason behind this? Here is the example of closed caption that I captured:

    >> Reporter: YEAH, HE BASALLY
    SPENT THE WHOLE WEEKEND TALKING
ABOUT THE STORY, DENYING HE HAD
    MADE THOSE COMMENTS AND TOUTING
WHAT HE’S DONE FOR THE MILITARY.
    PEOPLE SAID THIS STORYEALLY
    RESONATEWITH THE PRESIDENT AND
    ERIN, HWAS WORRIED IT COULD
    ERODE HIS SUPPORT WITH THE
    MILITARY.

You can see that two letters are missing from the words like BAS’IC’ALLY, STORY’ R’EALLY, etc. Can you help me with this? I can’t seem to find the error in the code. Thank you

    Hi Sujan,

This is not a coding error. The closed caption decoding works by detecting the flashing white bars. It’s not going to be perfect every time. Imagine how hard it is to detect every character byte that is displayed on the screen with the white bars as the bits. It’s quite a miracle that you can decode *any* of the caption data. Many people cannot get it to work at all. You are doing quite well!

So does that mean we cannot fix this error?
