KeymasterIt sounds like you aren’t even able to put the overlay sketch on the arduino, so that’s why you don’t see the overlay. The error indicates that you have not chosen the correct board or serial port. Check your settings in the Arduino IDE under the Tools menu.

KeymasterOh, I see. You didn’t buy our product, but you bought the parts yourself. It’s not cool to ask us for product support in this forum when you didn’t buy the product. I’ve spent a lot of time looking at your problem because I thought there was a problem with one of the devices we shipped.
I don’t know what is wrong with the circuit you built. If you are doing this on a breadboard, then you are going to have all kinds of noise problems. The 680K resistor must be very accurate (1% tolerance), and that’s why I use a 1% resistor in the kit. And sometimes you need to adjust the resistance a bit and that’s why I included R4 in the design.

KeymasterIf the regulator is hot, then you have connected the power backwards or there is a short to ground. Did you assemble the unit yourself? Where are you?
Please contact support@nootropicdesign.com and tell us who you are so we can help you out….

KeymasterHow many different video sources have you tried to use? Try others.
Have you adjusted the small potentiometer to the lowest position?
Did you buy your kit directly from nootropic design?Michael
KeymasterNice work! Thanks for posting here.

KeymasterI’d check the connections with D8 and D2. You are not getting the external interrupt needed for the horizontal sync. Pin 1 (SYNCOUT) on the LM1881 is connected to D8, and pin 3 (VSYNC) is connected to D2.

Keymasterdidierschmit, Like I said in my PM to you, I’d send you some code later this week. You cannot expect people to help you with your project because everyone has their own projects that they are working on.
Michael
Keymasterhmm, that sounds like there’s a connection problem somewhere. The Arduino isn’t getting the interrupt when a new line is starting. Did you solder it yourself or buy assembled? You are in a PAL country, right? That is, your video source is a PAL signal?
Michael
KeymasterGreat!

KeymasterYes, the Video Experimenter can output white pixels on a black background with the jumper in the D9 position. But the Video Overlay Demo requires an input to process, and that’s why you don’t see anything. What do you expect the the overlay demo to output if there is no input? Am I missing something?
Michael
KeymasterYes, contact me at michael@nootropicdesign.com. I’ll give you feedback on feasibility.

KeymasterIt sounds like you want to remove the clock function completely. Yes, this can be coded. Are you asking for someone to code that for you?

KeymasterWhat ignition system? How can someone possibly help you when you don’t provide any information? The DET button is just a switch, so you can use any switch.
Michael
KeymasterNo, there is no way for this very simple board to know what color is at a particular location. No color capability at all.
Michael
KeymasterIn the function detonate(). This is called when the countdown reaches 00:00.
